Is Tasbih really free?
Yes — completely. There is no Pro tier, no subscription, and no in-app purchase. Every feature, including unlimited custom dhikr, full history, advanced analytics (Prime Time, Resilience Score, Focus Depth), the BLE smart-tasbih integration, and Maker Mode, is unlocked for every user. The app is supported by Google AdMob, and a transparent share of that ad revenue is donated to charity each quarter.
Do I need an internet connection?
No — the core experience works fully offline. Counts, sessions, streaks, prayer times, and the dhikr library all live on your device. An internet connection is only needed when ads are loading, when you sync to your account (optional), and when you fetch new dhikr packs.
How does the smart tasbih bead work?
Any compatible Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tasbih bead pairs with the app. Each click of the bead is sent over BLE and automatically logged in your active session. You can also build your own using ESP32 or Arduino with our open Maker Mode protocol — the custom UUIDs are documented in-app.
How is my data handled?
All counting data is stored locally on your device. If you choose to create an account, your sessions are also synced to your private Supabase record so you can move between devices. We never sell your data, never share it with social networks, and never use it to train AI. For the full breakdown, see our Privacy Policy.
How does the charity giving actually work?
Every real ad impression in the app accrues to a shared charity pool. Each quarter, the charity portion of confirmed AdMob payouts is donated to verified Islamic charities. You can also use the in-app Donate More button to give directly on LaunchGood — the app never holds those funds. Quarterly receipts and recipient names are published on our Charity Statement.
Can I turn off ads?
Ads are how the app stays free and how the charity pool grows, so they can’t be turned off entirely. If you’re in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or Brazil, the in-app Settings → Privacy options entry lets you choose between personalised, non-personalised, or limited ads. On Android, you can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings under “Privacy → Ads”.
Is iOS supported?
Tasbih is currently available on Google Play. iOS support is on our roadmap — follow the project or check back here once it ships.
